Wise Words From Stacey

StaceyThanks to all our members and guest who come along to our Biggest Loser seminar with our guest speaker Michelle bridges – one of Australian Biggest Loser fitness trainers, mentor and coach for the red team!

Michelle’s seminar was very motivating and after speaking with our members and guests after the session, they felt excited and ready to kick start their weight loss goals with our upcoming biggest loser program.

As a personal trainer myself, the seminar reinforced 4 areas which are very important to help you achieve your weight loss, they were:

  1. Goals setting - without a goal you won’t move forward, so first you need to set a goal and commit yourself to it.
  2. Work out with a personal trainer- they will help you achieve a higher intensity workout which is the best way to help achieve your weight loss goal!
  3. Monitoring your heart rate - Michelle talked about the importance of intensity and the need to know what range you are working in. A heart rate monitor would be a great investment for you to keep a close eye on your heart rate and to train at the right intensity – FYI: we now stock them in the Club!
  4. Training with a friend or in a group - it is very motivating and will eliminate your excuses!

For those that didn’t get a chance to attend, I hope the above will help you make small adjustments or changes to help further your weight loss goals.

If you need any help on how you include the above into your program then ask when you are in next and we can organise an upgrade of your program or ask us about our small group training.

October Admin Investment

Biggest Loser Update

Biggest Loser Starts Soon! We have a group of committed members who are going to change their body shape!  The 20 plus members will be training 3 times a week with Aimee & Nathan!  So keep your eyes peeled for the members with the new bodies!

If you missed this program, email Duncan and let him know you would like to join the next program!

Something New From Nathan

We have new mats for the stretch area.  They have finally arrived and the advantages of having more mats down there for you lucky members is that now in peak times you don’t have to wait around to get a mat so you can finish up your session.

Hope you enjoy taking advantage of these new mats and don’t forget to incorporate them with your core work and stretching.

Exercise Tip From Aimee

Aimee

This exercise is designed not only to strengthen your hamstrings and glut muscles, but helps to strengthen and stabilise your core/abdominal muscles, because the fit ball is not a fix object thus your core muscles have to activate in order for you to maintain balance on the ball.

Exercise tip

Exercise tip

How to perform it?

  • Start by lying on back with arms outstretched and palms up.
  • Place heels on ball with toes pointing straight up.
  • Perform an abdominal draw-in and squeeze glutes to raise your hips from the floor.
  • Next, curl your heels toward your glutes by bending your knees.
  • Slowly return to the start position while maintaining the level of your hips throughout the entire exercise.
  • Do not allow the feet to rotate outwards while flexing the knees (keep toes pointing straight up).
  • Do not allow your hips to drop while bending the knees.
  • Progressions: 1 leg, or arms off the floor.

Need help with this?  Book in to see Aimee and she can show you.

As most gyms have personal trainers we wanted to be different.  We wanted to say what people want from personal training . . . results!  So after much debate we are excited to say that we no longer have personal trainers in the Club but Results Coaches.

The Active Results Coaches will coach, train and assist you in achieving your results.  Plus we have 2 new coaches who have just started with us!  So if you would like to see what Results Coaching is all about . . . ask!

Just grab Duncan, Chris, Tony, Scott or Patrick and organise a free Results Session just see why so many people benefit from having their personal coach!
