Active's Biggest Losers
Congratulations to our Team of members who did an awesome effort in the Biggest Loser program. Here are just some of the participants at our Mocktail Party

And here is what some of the participants had to say:
"The 'Biggest Loser' was fun, challenging and worth the effort. A fantastic program if you're prepared to commit. Was I a loser? Oh yes! But in the end, the results showed I was a winner! Whoohoo!"
Megan
"Biggest loser program help me shift 6kgs and has helped motivate me to continue my exercise outside of the program! Thanks Active!"
Bryce
"I recently completed the Biggest Loser program. Exercising for me has always been a chore and I would always make excuses as to why I didn`t want to do it. Michelle from TV`s Biggest Loser seemed to be speaking to me personally when she said "No more excuses, just do it". The motivation, encouragement and group support I received was great and I ended up losing 7kg, 13cm from my waist and 11cm from my hips. I reduced my fitness age by 14 years and now realise that this is a plan for life and not just for 6 weeks! Thank you Aimee and Active"

Stacey's Wise Words:
Surviving the "Silly season"
You know Christmas is fast approaching when Christmas decorations are up, you are receiving your first Christmas cards and your weekends are being booked with Christmas parties!
A couple of tips from me to help you "survive the silly season" at your next Christmas party or two are:
- Drink as much water as you can - this will help fill you up so you don't eat as much
- Never eat from the table or passing trays, always put your food on a plate so you can keep track of how much you are eating and try not to go back for seconds.
- Eat something that will fill you up rather than endless hors d'oeuvres which will leave you feeling hungry for more
- Try not to have desserts such cheesecake, pie, or cakes with cream filling (these can easily contain more than 3000kj). Instead, have a helping of fresh fruit salad with maybe a small scoop of ice-cream
- Dance so you can burn off those extra calories or offer to help the host so you can keep your mind off eating/drinking.
I hope to see all our members in the club at least twice a week throughout December and January to ensure you are "surviving the silly season" in 2007!
Boot Camp
This month we have just completed Boot Camp #4 and also ACNielsen Boot camp #2! We have over 40 people participating in this and motivating program. Chris & Nathan are doing a great job in keeping everyone on track!
If you would like to enlist in the February Boot Camp, drop Duncan an email now or if you would like to run a Boot camp for your company and or staff contact Stacey on 9870 8775.
Member of the Month
Elise is our member of the month for December. She has been Personal Training with Tony for over 6 months and that combined with competing in the Active's "running for a cause " challenge has achieved great results with her training and is feeling fit and energized. In the challenge she raised over $160 for the Breast and Prostate cancer foundations. A big thank you and congratulation to Elise, her family and friends for there support and sponsorship: Adam, Tracey, Kim, Steph, Tina, Lee, Tim, Janelle, Emma and Mum and Dad!
Exercise of the Month
This month our Program Coach Toni shares her secret exercise for great arms with the Barbell Lying Tricep Extension
- Lie on the bench with Shoulder width apart and overhead grip on the barbell
- Position barbell over shoulders with the arms extended
- Lower the bar to forehead by bending elbows
- Elbows should point to the sealing
- Extend arms with out locking the elbows and repeat
If you would like any help with your program or need some extra advice, Toni, Nathan and Aimee are here to help you. So book now to see them and click here and you could win 100 Ftreward points!
Did you know this about . . . Nicola
I started at Active Health Club to pursue my Career in Fitness. I have completed my Certificate III in Fitness and currently finishing my Certificate IV in personal Training. Being a part of the First Impressions team has helped me to relate to members and understand all the aspects of the gym and how it functions. I enjoy getting to know members and working with the Active Team. In my spare time I practice Performing arts, this includes singing, acting and I would love to dance like a pro!! Hopefully my interest in fitness will help me on stage one day!!
